CHRISTMAS VACATION: BOREDOM TO HAPPINESS TO EXCITEMENT
Christmas vacation is what most of students have been waiting for. Students were celebrating for it will be a two long weeks of vacation, two weeks of no classes and two weeks of not having school works. But having such vacation for me causes no celebration because I don’t really enjoy staying at home.
I’d rather prefer doing activities, solving problems and having lessons than being stocked in the house, locking myself inside my room watching DVD’s of Twilight and Ouran high, texting, sleeping, eating and waiting for the days to pass by. Yhup!! These are the only things I’ve done during my vacation, these things made me realized that boredom can kill. If only there’s no chore for me to do, maybe I would have slept until the vacation is over. By this, there’s no need for me to miss my special someone, my friends and classmates because every time I sleep, I see the in my dreams. A day passed by and finally Christmas is approaching but still boredom doesn’t leave me, the more I’m getting bored, the more I miss everything in school. Christmas eve, I expected it would be a happy day for me because I’ll be able to experience the family bonding I’ve been longing for but I was disappointed. I was so upset because they don’t even bother to call me inside my room to join the noche buena. So after eating, I just locked myself in my room and open the gifts my friends gave me during our Christmas program. After that, I went to sleep and let Christmas pass then back to my daily routine during the next days. Finally, December 30 in the morning, my cousin invited me to go to Nagsangalan to help our aunt in preparing foods for their fiesta the next day. Though I know I will not do any help, I still went there. We spent the night in my aunt’s house and somehow, I enjoyed staying there. At that time, I started to enjoy my vacation. During the fiesta, I joined my cousins in singing with the videoke and having fun with it. Then we went home and I immediately went to sleep but my aunt wake me up because we’ll go to Vigan and buy some grocery. Then few hours more to end the year 2008, I spent my time texting and having fun. New Year’s Eve is better than Christmas Eve for me. I really have fun during the New Year’s Eve watching beautiful and amazing fireworks display and it’s my favorite part in the celebration. I also enjoyed the media noche with my family and we also did some traditions and it was really great.
After the celebration, I have some resolutions for the year then went back to my daily routine and wait until the vacation is over and I really am very excited to go to school.
